The 2011 Dauphin Island Show

April third turned out to be an unusually beautiful day with sunny skies and temps in the low 80's.  In the fifteen year history of the Dauphin Island Show we have only been rained out once. Our luck continued this year. Also our scheduling was good with no competing shows or events. the MBVMC thanks Carlos Forte and Rick Moritz for organizing to show, and the Dauphin Island PTO for serving outstanding food, preparing the site, and helping with just about everything. Mike Thomason handled the registration.  Finally, we are indebted to our financial sponsors D&D Cycles in Pensacola, Mike Porter owner of Powdercoat Junction in Mobile and Retro Cycles in Fairhope who paid for the awards and trophies. We had 83 bikes entered which for us us a new all-time record. Kent Stocker won best of show with his 1945 Harley Davidson Knuckle head sidecar rig (see picture below). A table of the winners in each class appears below.  To see pictures of almost all of the bikes in the show look at the gallery
